I’ve been designing websites for almost 10 years now and I have to say that I love the work enormously. It combines my two greatest passions, technology and design, in a unique way, allowing me to use the left and right side of my brain in unison. I’ve been advised that such a skill is a ‘gift’, although to me it is just the perfect way to enjoy the work I do and be fully absorbed by it.
I started designing websites because I wanted to harness internet technologies initially, but over the years I have developed a technique/ethos for my designs that I refer to as ‘visual ergonomics’. Websites, in my opinion, should be visually stunning, SEO rich and easy for the client/end-user to navigate. Unfortunately, so many of the websites that I visit are only distinctive in that they are characterless in their appeal to the end-user. Full of keywords and text, yes, but have the attractiveness of a lump of coal.
Web Design is a design process, as much as it is a code driven technology. It is possible to have both at once. My web-clients appreciate the benefit of having an attractive site that gives the end-user a pleasant visual experience, whilst fulfilling their overall business objectives.
Here is a list of my business websites. Feel free to have a browse. I hope you enjoy the experience of viewing them. That is certainly my objective.
